WILL MY NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER HAVE PROPS?
Yes! Your photographer will have a TON of props for your newborn session. Photographers overtime spend and invest many dollars into props, outfits, safety equipment, backdrops, accessories, swaddles, and more for their studio. A newborn photographer typically spends about 30 minutes before a session ensuring props, wraps, and backdrops are ready for their clients before their arrival.
Once you inquire with me, we chat about any specifics you have. This can be through email, messenger, or phone call. On We go over specifics such as colors, wraps, posing, etc. that you want in your customized newborn session. When I have your specific desires about your session, I can ensure I have all the props and equipment ready to go when you arrive. Your session will go smoothly and flawlessly!

HOW MANY PROPS do I GET to have at my NEWBORN SESSION?
This can vary by photographer and their packages offered.
I have 3 packages to serve every families needs. During your newborn inquiry we will talk about the details of each prop and how many sets we can plan for based on your newborn session package.
What if I have the OUTFIT my grandma made for my NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
Studios should be fully stocked with all newborn photography props, swaddles, headbands, bows, buckets, baskets, backdrops, etc.
When you book a session with me, I have everything needed for any newborn session. If you have that special crochet outfit or sentimental piece that you would like to incorporate into your newborn session, PLEASE absolutely bring it to customize your newborn session.
AM I ALLOWED TO BRING PROPS OF MY OWN?
Depending on your photographer, you might be able to bring props of your own. Some do not allow props for safety reasons. Special companies work to create safe newborn props so it is always a good idea to use those specific websites for the best quality props. Make sure to consult with your newborn photographer before arriving with a handful of props though!
During an inquiry with Alexa Todd Photography, please let me know if you are bringing any props. This can include a sentimental item or something you enjoy and want to customize your newborn session with. I will then plan one of my sets around this prop and bring your vision to life!
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD BE BRINGING TO MY SESSION?
There are things you should always have on hand when going to a newborn session.
Feeding supplies- your baby may be extra hungry and tired after their session. Moving their little bodies is work for them! Be prepared and have it ready! They’ve been working hard during their newborn session looking so sweet... they will be ready to EAT! And spoil them with extra snuggles, milkies, and naps.
Diaper essentials (wipes, diapers, mat) and a change of clothes for mom and dad!
Newborn photography studios should be a little toasty. This is to keep newborns warm and safe... I recommend to bring a short sleeve shirt for after mom and dad photos are done.
